My experience with mental health challenges
The year 2020 brought many challenges to planet Earth to everyone. For me it caused a complete shake up of my beliefs, my ambitions and understanding of where I was going in life.
I think that it was this in-depth introspection along with the additional stress over health of loved ones, financial pressures and isolation that triggered my depression.
Amongst many symptoms I experienced lethargy, feeling unmotivated and generally exhausted but not understanding why. I’ve written about the signs that my mental health was declining that I ignored, you may recognise some!
There are many ways to fight back against mental health problems and part of my mission for creating this blog is to hopefully spread the message to those that are suffering too that:
– You are not alone. Anxiety and depression affect millions, and sharing experiences can create understanding and connection.
– To demystify the link between exercise and mental health. It’s not just about getting fit; it’s about tapping into natural mood-boosting chemicals and building resilience.
– To offer hope and inspiration. If I can find some relief through exercise, perhaps it can spark something positive for you too.
